Applications for nomination of athletes, coaches, bodies, entities and universities have been opened for the National Sports Awards 2021. The nominations will be done online due to the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. The virus has been responsible for throwing a plethora of sporting plans out the window and offline nominations for the awards were one of them.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is the one that gives away these awards. This year, they have gone with self nomination due to the pandemic. It is noteworthy that last year as well, self nomination was allowed due to the same reason. Apart from the nominations that are made, the National Sporting Federations will send in their nominations on who they think are deserving candidates.
