‘Suited Up’ Stefon Diggs in Hot Water as Chef Assault Trial Kicks Off

The former New England Patriots WR Stefon Diggs has officially started his trial with jury selection on Monday morning. The wideout is defending a felony strangulation and assault charges filed by his private chef amidst a dispute over payment.
The chef, identified as Jamila Adams, accused Diggs of choking and slapping her when she confronted the athlete for payment in December 2025. The defendant party has already rejected the claims made by the former private chef, alleging that the claims are fake and fabricated after she was excluded from a trip made by Diggs.
The prosecution had stated that they were planning to call two witnesses: Adams and then a police officer. The chef also revealed their past intimate relationship during the trial, leaving fans shocked. She also dropped major points in light of the fabricated story, bringing in layers of dirty laundry aired out. Meanwhile, Diggs’ counsel is calling the people who were inside the arrest during the time of the alleged assault.
On Monday, Diggs was chipper and dressed like he called in a special favor with Chester Chunk Palmer. He was all formal and professional in a navy suit while arriving at the Dedham District Court for his arraignment around 8:50 a.m. The trial could reportedly take around two to three days, as per the judge, before the jury selection.

With regard to his career, Diggs was released by the Patriots following their Super Bowl defeat. He is currently a free agent. Around the same time, he and Cardi B also broke up after a tumultuous relationship. Sources close to the rapper revealed that she didn’t feel safe in the relationship as he betrayed her multiple times. She and Diggs share a child together, born in November last year.
Jamila Adams spills the beans about her previous intimate relationship with Stefon Diggs
The chef Jamila Adams admitted on stand that she and Stefon Diggs started out hanging out as friends. Though she was offered a job working for him for $2000 per week in February, he had contacted her about four and half years ago for her cooking services via Instagram.

She took the role in July, and lived in his residence from July up to December. The conflict, as per Adams, started towards the end of November when she was accused of gossiping by a friend of his child’s mother. The person had accused Adams of spreading lies about Diggs having a relationship with one of the women on the staff named Lindsay.
Adams confirmed that the confrontation stemmed from this and that Lindsay was upset about Adams being a household resident while being employed. She added that she didn’t know what was the extent of her role, only that her rent was being paid by the athlete and she worked for him. Furthermore, Adams said that the whole drama with Lindsay was the reason why she was excluded from the trip to Miami.
Adams gave an elaborate run-up about what happened and how the argument delved into an assault. She said that she was petrified by the attack that she wetted herself and started her menstrual cycle from the stress. She added that she packed her bags for New York City and made a trip with another staffer after the incident but refrained from telling what happened because she had a previous intimate relationship with Diggs.
Footage recorded in the week after the alleged incident was presented in court, reportedly showing no visible injuries on Adams’ face. Adams also stated that before submitting her messages to the police, she deleted certain texts, explaining that she was concerned about how they might be interpreted.
