Fernando Alonso showed frustration at the Hungarian GP qualifying when the FIA pulled out red flags just before he was about to finish the race. Sergio Perez crashed at turn 6 of the Hungaroring, and the car was smoking. The FIA brought out the red flag to avoid further incidents.
Former F1 driver David Coulthard commented on Fernando Alonso’s frustration after the race. A video was circulated over the social media, where Alonso was seen throwing his jacket and cap on the floor. Coulthard recalled this behavior of Fernando Alonso from his racing days and claimed it “typically petulant”. This meant when the Spaniard was in his early days of racing DC observed his behavior which was the same as today.

David Coulthard commented on the situation where two-time world champion Fernando Alonso was seen frustrated. He highlighted that Alonso’s behavior is as childish as it was when he joined the sport as a teenager. He mentioned that the 42-year-old is still acting like a child even in his forties. DC believed Alonso would’ve handled the situation calmly and spoken to the official in a composed manner.

Fernando Alonso’s race engineer Chris Cronin on the team radio told him that Lance Stroll, who is a teammate, was a second behind them. On the other side, rival Yuki Tsunoda was three-and-half seconds behind Alonso. Fernando Alonso started the race in seventh position, which was disappointing to him as he believed he could’ve started more ahead. The Spaniard reckoned FIA’s inappropriate decision to bring Red Flag was to blame for.

Alonso’s frustration may have reached a level where he didn’t feel like racing anymore. He started the race in 7th ahead of his teammate and Yuki Tsunoda. However, as the race moved ahead on lap 44 the Spaniard was in eleventh position behind them. Alonso said to Cronin that they’ve lost the race already when he tried to inform them about the drivers behind him.

Certainly, The 2024 Hungarian GP didn’t turn out well for the Spaniard and Aston Martin. So far Alonso has scored 45 points in 2024 and lies on 9th rank of the drivers standing. Fans just hope to see him perform well at the upcoming races with more thrilling and action.
