Before that, let us first know which country stands at the top with the most medals in Olympic Games. Each year new players from each country debut with their nation’s hopes riding on them. Factors such as hosting country and availability of financial resources often play a role in the country’s performance and their consequent medal tally.

Being the toughest competitors, sometimes with more than one representative in each sport event, the US holds the highest medal tally with a whopping 2523 medals in total – 1022 gold medals, 795 silver medals, and 706 bronze medals.

With many great players in multiple fields like Michael Phelps in swimming, Evelyn Ashford in Athletics to Simone Biles– the USA has made its place at the top of the chart and has participated in all editions of Olympics except for one and has been the hosted multiple Olympics, more than any country.
