Born on 17 July 1994, Mendy began his football career at Le Havre’s youth academy, and then his playing career with the club’s reserve team in 2010. He gained prominence after Manchester City gave a record fee to sign him in 2017 from the French club, AS Monaco. However, in August 2021, the same Premier League club suspended him after he was booked for sexual offenses.
