Rublev has performed well in the clay court season. He was the runner up in Monte Carlo Masters where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas. He had beaten Rublev with the score line of 6-3, 6-3 in the final. The world number 7 did not perform up to the mark in the Barcelona Open where he was beaten by veteran, John Isner in the round of 16. Struff has been struggling to regain his form in the clay court season. The world number 42 has not been able to go past the round of 32 in the clay season. He last played at the Monte Carlo Masters where he lost to former world number 3, Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets with the score line of 3-6, 4-6. The German had reached the second round in the French Open last year and would be hoping for a good run this year.
