Holger Rune on ending the dominance of the big three
Holger Rune in his interview with Cracked Racquets talked about a topic that is very sensitive to Tennis fans. According to Holger tennis fans would enjoy watching more energetic players as compared to the legends of the game.
Holger said, “I think the Future is great. I think the future is going to be more exciting because they have more energy.”
It’s true that after the dominance of the big three – Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer. The relatively younger lot comprising of Daniil Medvedev, Matteo Berrettini, Alexander Zverev, and Stefano Tsitsipas has given a tough fight to them. But to give out statements hinting at the lack of energy in the games of the Big three is disrespectful to their legacy.
It should also be noticed that even after being at the end of their careers the big three are able to compete with the greatest talent throughout the world and even dominate them sometimes. Young players should be encouraged to come into high-level tennis and show their talent. But not the expense of them being disrespectful to the legends of the game.
