The Australian Open 2022 has faced many controversies and setbacks before it’s commencement. The biggest one was Novak Djokovic’s visa saga. The player is finally being deported to his nation because of insufficient vaccination details. Also many huge players, like Rafael Nadal, Nick Kyrgios, Emma Raducanu and Belinda Bencic were tested positive for Covid-19 before the tournament only to get cleared to compete.

These major players being tested positive for Covid created a sense of fear in their fans at they would be able to see their superstars on the playing on the court of Australia or not! But everything was handled properly and the fans’ favourites managed to appear at one of the biggest tournaments pf the season and gave exceptional performances.

Yesterday Naomi Osaka played her first match at the 2022 Aussie Open. She faced Camila Osorio. Camila is a Columbian professional tennis player. Her current ranking according to the Women’s Tennis Association is World No.50, she has one WTA and 3 ITF singles career titles to her name.

In the match the Japanese defeated the Columbian and had an easy victory. She won with a score of 6-3, 6-3. The match was going very smooth without involving much twists and it turned out to be an easy win for Naomi. Her fans were very excited for their favorite player’s first victory at the first Grand Slam of the season.

Amidst the match, in the seconds set, Osaka was winning against Osorio with the score being 6-3 in the previous set and 5-3 in the current one. During the second set very unusual thing happened.

Osorio served after her point and Naomi all prepared to hit with full power. As soon as the ball came towards her, Naomi hit her backhand with full power and instead of going in the court the ball hit the chair umpire’s seat which made the player disappointed because of the direction of her stroke. The chair umpire also became fearful and nervous. Naomi then apologized for her stroke to the umpire.
