She was furious and dejected with fellow players’ attitude who neither walked up to her nor empathized with her situation as she was on crutches. She posted “Thanks to everyone who has messaged me, it means the world. On the other hand, I’m sh*tlisting some of my colleagues who literally saw me today on crutches in Tokyo and didn’t say a word. It cannot be hard to be a nice person. Just makes me sad and makes me not wanna go through it all again to make a comeback on the tour and spend most of the time seeing these people. And colleges that did take a second from their busy lives waiting for their practice or match to say something. You’re in good list. I love u.’

Daria Saville was trailing 0-1,30-30 in the first set of the match at Japan Open when she tripped on the court while storming towards the net. With immediate medical assistance, she got up but not to make things much worse, decided to retire from the match, and handed Naomi Osaka a walkover to the second round as her outing ended in just 14 minutes of play.

This is not the first time she had suffered an ACL injury. Continuing with her encounter with injuries over the last few years which keeps her out of action at most times, she suffered an ACL injury in 2013. She hopes to bounce back like the last time and be back on the court stronger and better. She had a first-round exit at the 2022 US Open.
