Tennis legend Martina Navratilova recently spoke about US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz on Twitter and revealed how he would’ve been a different player if he was born 50 years ago. Navratilova, who is regarded as one of the all-time greats and is also debated to be the greatest female tennis player of all time, responded to a fan tweet where she was regarded as better than Serena Williams.

Navratilova has won 18 singles grand slam titles and a whopping 41 doubles grand slam titles and hence is debated to be the ultimate GOAT. The American was delighted with her comparison to Serena but didn’t agree that she was better than her. She said that comparing different eras is very silly as the dynamics completely change with changing eras. She cited Carlos Alcaraz’s name and said that if Alcaraz were born 50 years earlier, he would not have played the same way he plays now.

“You could be right on that, I don’t know. I think it is human nature to think what we have now is the best, period. Comparing eras is just silly IMO. If Alcaraz were born 50 years earlier, he would not have played the same way he plays now. But thank you in any case:)” Martina tweeted.
