“Good that you are not in the office anymore,” Alex Dolgopolov slams Donald Trump over involvement in the Ukraine War
Alex Dolgopolov got offended by the comments made by former President Donald Trump regarding conflict in Ukraine.

Alex Dolgopolov and Donald Trump
Alex Dolgopolov came out hard on the former President Donald Trump for his comments that he could have stopped the war by negotiating a deal with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to stop the war in Ukraine. In a recent radio interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, he revealed his plans to prevent the conflict between Ukraine and Russia to escalate to such catastrophic levels.
Fox News had earlier decided to omit some parts of the radio interview with Mr. Trump. However, now some excerpt of the interview and details have been revealed. In this part, Mr. Trump is heard discussing a negotiated deal with Russia and could have considered Moscow to take some parts of Ukraine.
“That’s without even negotiating a deal. I could have negotiated. At worst, I could’ve made a deal to take over something, there are certain areas that are Russian-speaking areas, frankly, but you could’ve worked a deal,” he is reported to have said.
He also bragged that Russia would not have tried to conquer Ukraine if he would have been the President of the USA. Such a situation did not occur during his time.
Alex Dolgopolov did not like it when he learned this news. He shared his opinions on this news on social media.
“Well who would have thought of the genius plan of this lunatic.. Just let russia kill, rape, torture, try to erase nations and have what they want. Good that your not in the office mister and I hope Americans won’t make that mistake again,” his caption read.
Alex Dolgopolov is a former tennis player. He retired after playing his last match against Novak Djokovic in the Italian Open 2021.

Effects of war on tennis

The Ukraine-Russia war has dragged on beyond one year. Nobody knows how this war will end for both the countries and what impact it will have for the world. However, this war has had its implications for sports in general and tennis in particular. Earlier in 2022, Wimbledon and British Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) had decided to ban Russian and Belarusian players from playing in any tournament which will be held in the United Kingdom.
The ATP and WTA decided to fine LTA and also stripped off ranking points. This meant that both Novak Djokovic and Elena Rybakina did not receive due ranking points despite being winners. Also, many Ukrainian players are openly supporting the war effort. Sergiy Stakhovsky and Alex Dolgopolov took up arms while Elina Svitolina is making her contribution in the rebuilding efforts.
This war has also affected the mental health of Russian and Belarusian players. Both Daria Kasatkina and Andrey Rublev have condemned the war. However, both the players including Daniil Medvedev, Aryna Sabalenka, Victoria Azarenka, Karen Khachanov amongst others have been on target of the media and tennis fans for quite some time.
