Alexander Zverev believes rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz can be the future
The German made his breakthrough on the professional ATP Tour level at the age of 17 years in 2014. Since then he has been part of the ATP Tour. During this time, he saw many rivalries to develop, however, none have until now been able to surpass the rivalry between two greats Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Both the players are considered by many as the greatest who ever played this sport. They played some memorable competitive matches which brought joy to millions of tennis fans. But now since Roger Federer has retired and Rafael Nadal is injured from quite some time, the value of rivalries has diminished a bit.
Alexander Zverev believes that Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz rivalry can bring back the same level of excitement. He believes that tennis fans can look forward to witness their rivalry develop in the years to come and in the Grand Slam tournaments.
“The spectators can look forward to more matches between Sinner and Alcaraz in the future. The two have a good relationship. This could be a new ‘Rafa-Roger rivalry’”the German added further.
