With her charisma both on and off the court, Serena Williams, a 40-year-old American professional tennis player, is widely recognized as one of the greatest tennis players of all time in the women’s circuit. She is preparing to return to the court at the National Bank Open later this month.

The six-time US Open winner recently fell out of the WTA rankings and is most likely going to be an unseeded player in the 2022 tournament. Serena has performed admirably in recent tournaments, reaching the final twice in 2018 and 2019 and the semifinals once in 2020. She won’t be one of the favorites to win the championship due to her uneven play and lack of match time, but it’s still too early to write off the champion.

After practicing with her sister Venus Williams at the Citi Open grounds in the nation’s capital, Serena Williams went sightseeing in Washington DC. The 23-time Grand Slam winner visited the famous Washington Monument with Mark Ein, a well-known businessman and the Citi Open chairman.

After her practice session, the younger Williams sister took some time off to explore the city. Ein posted a picture on Twitter with the American tennis superstar at the Washington Monument. “Always love showing the tourists around my town,” Ein wrote in his post. Williams herself posted a couple of additional updates about her travels on Instagram. Williams used a kick scooter to get around the city before going to the Lincoln Memorial and the monument.

Serena and Venus Williams were engaged in a heated practice session earlier. Both players appeared to be giving it their all, striking some powerful groundstrokes and putting in a lot of effort. Numerous spectators flocked to the court in an effort to see the two legendary champions.
