Novak Djokovic is now one win away from a record-extending 10th Australian Open title. The 21-time Major winner can tie Rafael Nadal for the top spot once again with 22 Grand Slam singles titles. He reaches the finals having dropped only one set over the past fortnight. Coming into the match, he is 11-0 this season with Tommy Paul being his last victim in the semis. Djokovic beat Paul 7-5, 6-1, 6-2.

It was the second match this year in Australian Open where Stef dropped sets. The earlier instance was against Jannik Sinner who took the Greek No. 1 to five sets.
Tsitsipas has been highly consistent at the Slam with four semi-final appearances in the last five editions. Despite this being his first final in Melbourne Park, he will be having the support having wooed the crowd this year. With a chance to become the World No. 1 against a not-fully-fit Djokovic, it doesn’t come better than this.

With both players having gone into five sets a similar encounter could take place on Sunday. Djokovic will however look to not drag it much as his leg isn’t fully healed. But Tsitsipas is too good of an opponent to go down in straight-sets. Considering all the factors, it could be a close match that could eventually see Djokovic lift the trophy.
