Becker feels that Sinner always had a great tennis hand, but it was his psychological strength that kept him on the hindside. Becker also went on to predict that it will not be long until the Italian draws a title at the Grand Slams.

Becker said:

He has always been dangerous, but now he has a certain consistency and a relaxed attitude on the pitch, which allows him to stay true to his line and play well even in critical phases.

Continuing his train of thought, he further added:

It has to be to reach the semi-finals or final of a Grand Slam tournament and maybe even win it. He is a reserved, polite and well-mannered boy. Where does this exist? He is a superstar and yet a relaxed, reserved and incredibly likeable athlete.

How has Jannik Sinner fared this season?

There were a lot of hopes on the young Italian shoulders of Jannik Sinner ahead of the 2023 season, and he disappointed his fans in the early phases of the year.

But as the months went by, Sinner gradually turned himself into a serious contender, getting his hands on his first silverware of the year at the Montreal Open.

He also bagged crucial ATP 500 titles in Vienna Open and Beijing, but it was not until the very last tournament of the year that Sinner unleashed the best version of himself.

Sinner made it to the finals of the ATP Finals, emerging as the runner-up against Novak Djokovic. But in the very next Davis Cup, he got his revenge against Djokovic, knocking out Serbia in the semi-finals and bringing the Davis Cup back to Italy after over 50 long years.
