In a recent match against Dusan Lajovic in the Miami Open, Carlos Alcaraz achieved a remarkable feat by registering his fourth career bagel at ATP Masters 1000 level. In the third round of the ongoing tournament, he defeated Lajovic in straight sets 6-0, 7-6(7-5). To put this achievement into perspective, only six players since 1990 have won multiple 6-0 sets as teenagers, and Alcaraz has now equaled Rafael Nadal for the most.

This is a remarkable accomplishment, considering Nadal’s status as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. Alcaraz’s bagel against Lajovic is a testament to his talent and potential. He is still only 19 years old and has a long career ahead of him, but he has already shown that he has the ability to compete at the highest level of professional tennis.

Scoring a bagel signifies the difference in skill level between the two players. Considering the event to be Masters 1000 which implies that the best 128 play in it, scoring a bagel is a great achievement. Carlos Alcaraz is just 19 and already scored four bagels in the Masters 1000 talks a lot of potential he possess.

The Spaniard is also the youngest to win the US Open title last year and reach the top spot in the ATP charts. However, with Novak Djokovic and Nadal at the last stint of their careers, it’s safe to say that Alcaraz will be owning the sport in the coming years. If not for 20 Grand Slam titles, he will certainly make his mark on the sport by the end of his career.
