US Open champion Daniil Medvedev will headline the top half of the draw and gets a first-round bye along with the other top 8 seeds. Medvedev, in pursuit of getting back in form, will face either Botic Van de Zandschulp or Maxime Cressy in the second round. He is drawn opposite Grigor Dimitrov who will face Denis Shapovalov in the opening round. Either Dimitrov or Shapovalov will face the winner of the match between Jenson Brooksby and Tommy Paul.

Russian Andrey Rublev will face either a qualifier or Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the opening match and then could face any one of Taylor Fritz, Sebastian Baez, Nick Kyrgios, or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a tough third-round match. Kyrgios faces Fokina in the opener and will face either Fritz or Baez in the second round.

Stefanos Tsitsipas will face either Filip Krajinovic or in form Dan Evans in the second round and is drawn to face 13th seed Diego Schwartzman in the Round of 16. The Argentine will open against Alex Molcan in the opening round and will face either Aslan Karatsev or Brandon Nakashima in the second round.

8th seed Hubert Hurkacz, who is in amazing form, will face either John Isner or Benjamin Bonzi in the second round. Meanwhile, Matteo Berrettini will open his campaign against Frances Tiafoe and will face either Karen Khachanov or Sebastian Korda in the second round. Berrettini and Hurkacz could meet in the Round of 16.

Rafael Nadal will mark his comeback at Cincinnati and will be seeded second in the tournament. He will open his campaign against a qualifier or Borna Coric and is drawn opposite 15th seed Roberto Bautista Agut who draws Francisco Cerundolo in the opening round. Bautista Agut may face a qualifier in the second round.

7th seed Felix Auger-Aliassime will be up against the winner of the match between Alexander Bublik and Alex De Minaur. He is projected to face 10th seed Jannik Sinner in the third round. Sinner faces a qualifier in the second round and could face in form Pablo Carreno Busta in the second round. Sinner and Felix could meet in the Round of 16.

Spanish teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz will face either Nikoloz Basilashvili or Mackenzie McDonald in the second round. He will then face Marin Cilic according to the seedings. Cilic faces a qualifier in the opening round and will take on Emil Ruusuvuori or J.J. Wolf in the second round.

5th seed and in form Casper Ruud will most likely face Ben Shelton in the second round. Meanwhile, Cameron Norrie will open against Holger Rune and will then take on a qualifier or Stan Wawrinka in the second round. Norrie and Ruud are expected to meet in the Round of 16.

Two arch-rivals, Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet in the first semifinal. Both Medvedev and Tsitsipas haven’t been in the best of form off late and will want to get the much-wanted momentum going into the US Open. Expect a thrilling match with Medvedev easing into the final.

In the repeat of the French Open final, Casper Ruud will be up against Rafael Nadal in the second semifinal. Ruud is having the best season of his career and is amongst one of the best players this year. Nadal, on the other hand, will need as much game time as possible ahead of the US Open.

Medvedev is trying to get in the groove for his title defense in New York and a match against Nadal would definitely help him prepare for it. Nadal has been very solid all season and is trying to keep himself fit. If he is 100% fit, expect him to win the 5th title of the season at Cincinnati.
