“D.A.R.E. shirt again?” Serena Williams’ husband takes dreadful Maria Sharapova-inspired jibe at Simona Halep’s probable doping calumny

2-time grand slam champion Simona Halep has tested positive for doping and the news has shaken the tennis world to its core given her reputation. The tennis fraternity and fans are reacting to it in their own ways- some are accusing Halep of cheating while some are standing by her side. Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian has reacted to the matter in his own way.
Back in 2019, when Maria Sharapova returned to the tour after her dope ban, Alexis went to see her match against his wife Serena Williams wearing a D.A.R.E. shirt. It stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education and was supposed to be a dig at Sharapova who tested positive for doping and was suspended for a few years.
Alexis recalled that incident once again amidst Simona Halep’s doping scandal and sarcastically asked everyone what are they wearing for Halloween pointing to the D.A.R.E. shirt he intended to wear mocking Halep. “What are you all wearing for Halloween this year???” he tweeted.
He further mocked her by saying that wearing the shirt is a look that never goes out of style. “It’s a look that never goes out of style, apparently,” Alexis said.

While Halep’s dope test has tested positive, she has denied all claims and has said that she’ll fight for it because willingly she has never ingested any drugs. This means that it isn’t confirmed that Halep has cheated and for getting ahead of things, Alexis Ohanian has received a lot of heat from the fans on social media. Many have called him petty like his wife Serena for mocking Halep in her misery.
A day ago, Halep issued a statement in which she claimed that she hadn’t taken any drugged substance willingly and will fight to prove this. If found guilty beyond the scope, Halep may face a ban of up to three years.
