Daniil Medvedev is a superstar and also boasts hollywood royalty in his fan club. On the sidelines of the Miami Open, the Russian met with hollywood actor Jamie Foxx. The two met after the World No.5 won his Quarter-final match against Chris Eubanks.
The actor although, came to support Daniil Medvedev’s opponent in Miami, he was particularly impressed with the Russian’s prowess on the court. He politely asked him to pose for a photograph and the two had a fun chat together.
The ATP Tour shared an excerpt of this video on social media.
“So who did the crowd go crazy for?” the caption read.
“When the crowd went like crazy, I was like, who the hell is there? (looking towards the stands). Jamie Foxx is there,” he is heard saying in the video.
“Congratulations! Well played!” Jamie Foxx is heard acknowledging victory of Daniil Medvedev.
Daniil Medvedev will take on Karen Khachanov in the semi-final round of the Miami Open 2023.

Daniil Medvedev is on the verge of playing another ATP final this season
The 2023 season has played out extremely well for Daniil Medvedev. He has moved on from the disasters of last season to rise heroically this year. In 2023, he looked promising and eager to make his mark. He has been able to adopt the conditions well and it has helped him to prosper against his opponents.
His renaissance began at the Adelaide International 1 tournament, where he reached the semi-final of the tournament, losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic. In this match the Serbian defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-4, 6-4. But it can be considered as a minor blip in form.
Although, his Australian Open campaign ended early as he lost to Sebastian Korda in the third round, he backed it up by winning three ATP titles back-to-back- the ATP Rotterdam Open, the Qatar Open and the Dubai Tennis Championships. He beat brilliant players such as Jannik Sinner, the three-time Grand Slam champion and Andy Murray and Andrey Rublev in the finals of these three tournaments respectively.
He also reached the final of the Indian Wells Open, but lost to Carlos Alcaraz in this match. This loss ended his 19 match winning streak. At the Miami Open too, fans are expecting a Carlos Alcaraz-Daniil Medvedev showdown in the final. The Spaniard is going to play against Jannik Sinner in his semi-final round match.
