Emma Raducanu reveals her ‘New Year Resolution’ in hopes of a bountiful 2023 season

Young British sensation Emma Raducanu has had an exceptional start to her career. In the US Open 2021, she entered the main draw as a qualifier and ended the tournament with the title to her name at the tender age of 18. On the path to Grand Slam glory, she defeated many of the well-established names, such as the Swiss Belinda Bencic. Since then, she has become a source of public frenzy and a lot of media attention.
Last week she sat down with SheerLuxe and talked about many topics, including morning routine, training schedule, and the upcoming season, among other things. The 20-year-old revealed that her biggest goal in 2023 is to be more “injury-free” as her 2022 season did not go as well as she would have expected, majorly because of the wrist injury she suffered in October 2022.
In a recent interview with SheerLuxe, the tennis sensation talked about her new year resolution for 2023. When asked about her objectives and her future strategies heading into the new year, she noted, “My biggest goal in 2023 is to be more injury free. I just want to stay healthier for longer. This year, the demands of the tour, going from having no training or stamina to being thrown into competing at the top level, my body has struggled.”
She further went on to highlight ‘consistency’ as another target, if she had to make a New Year’s resolution. “Put in the work, day in, day out,” added Raducanu.
On the question about her next plans, she seemed extremely optimistic and highlighted, “Everything’s wrapping up in terms of tour finals and things like that, but I’m going to Abu Dhabi for an exhibition match on December 16th. It’s not an actual tournament but I’ve been out of the game for two months with a wrist injury, so it’ll be interesting to see where I’m at with that.”
Providing some brief details about her training for the upcoming new season, she added, ” I’ve been doing a lot of gym work, so it’ll just be a great way to get back into the sport before the season officially begins. In the New Year, I’ll be in Auckland before the start of the Australian Open.

Emma Raducanu is set to begin her next season at ASB Classic in Auckland
Ready to put the challenging 2022 season behind her, Emma Raducanu has confirmed her participation in the ASB Classics tournament, starting early next month in Auckland. There, she would test her fitness after recovering from the injury and would hope to win the tournament, thus making an excellent start to the new 2023 season.
Talking about Raducanu’s participation, the ASB Classic tournament director Nicolas Lamperin revealed that she was the toughest player to convince to feature in the 2023 edition of the tournament. “I guess it was more challenging with Emma Raducanu. We wanted to wait to see what happened after the US Open. On both sides there was interest, she was also keen to hear about what was happening with the United Cup, so it took longer to agree. But in the end, we were on the same page,” he said.
“I’m really looking forward to coming to New Zealand, “I’ve heard so many good things about the tournament. It is a great way to start off the Australian Open swing. I have heard that the tournament in New Zealand is great for players and fans,” Raducanu had said earlier about her participation in the tournament.
