The German has really stepped up big-time in Paris, after a disappointing start to the season. Seeded 22nd at the French Open, Alexander Zverev has dropped just one set on his way to the last eight.

Meanwhile, Etcheverry has been one of the surprise names of the tournament. Zverev outplayed Grigor Dimitrov in the fourth round in straight sets to book a spot in the quarterfinals. The 2022 French Open semi-finalist also defeated a tricky opponent in the form of Frances Tiafoe in four sets in the third round, after dropping the first set. The German saw off Alex Molcan and Lloyd Harris in the opening round matches. There were doubts over Alexander Zverev’s preparations in lead up to the French Open, given his mediocre clay court season. However, he has put all doubts to rest after his recent performances.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry remains only one of the few players who have yet to drop a set at the French Open. The Argentine defeated Alex de Minaur in straight sets in the second round, which came as a surprise. He followed it up with another comfortable victory over Borna Coric in the third round. The 23-year-old has had a successful clay court season so far, reaching the finals in Houston and a Challenger Event in France.
