“It won’t affect him,” Carlos Alcaraz’s former coach believes the Spaniard will be undaunted by distractions

Carlos Alcaraz has been riding on a high with his incredible performances of the season especially after winning his maiden Grand Slam singles title at the 2022 US Open defeating Norwegian Casper Ruud. He defeated Ruud in four sets 6-4, 2-6, 7-6(1), 6-3 in three hours and 20 minutes of play and proved his dominance by registering his 51st match win of the year.
With Alcaraz’s rise since the 2021 season, he is seen as the leader of the sport in the coming years of the sport. He started his campaign in the hard-court season brilliantly with 3 consecutive straight-set wins. He became the youngest major champion in the last 17 years.

With this win at US Open, he became the second Spaniard to become the US Open champion after Rafael Nadal. He is also the youngest US Open champion since Pete Sampras in 1990. Alcaraz had to battle for five sets in the three matches prior to the finals. He broke Kevin Anderson‘s record for most minutes in a Grand Slam campaign in the process.
Kiko Navarro, Alcaraz’s childhood coach, shared a major update regarding the Spaniard where he revealed that he is very focussed and strong-headed and no distractions or challenges will be able to shake his belief system. He is very committed and truly loves the sport in which he has put in so much hard work over the years.
He said that “I think it won’t affect him even if he spends two years without winning a Grand Slam. I know him well, and he likes tennis too much to break down and get distracted. He will always have goals; he will not burn out.“
With his spectacular performances, there was a high jump in his rankings and slowly made his way to the Top and has been a fierce competitor with extraordinary fitness levels, sheer hard work, and grit. He has already managed to win four ATP titles this season. His becoming the number one player at such a young age has been the talk of the town and the topic of discussion has been focused on his consistency.
