Jannik Sinner, the talented tennis player from Italy, has been making waves on the ATP Tour with his impressive performances. As of 2023, Sinner is at the peak of his career and is inching closer to achieving his ultimate goal. Recently, Ivan Ljubicic, a former tennis player and renowned coach of Roger Federer, shared his thoughts on Sinner in an interview with Sky Sport. Ljubicic was not shy about expressing his tough opinions on the rising star.
Ivan Ljubicic said, “Jannik definitely got angry, I saw from the way he greeted Rune at the end of the match. The truth, however, is that he has to react on the court. It had already happened in the past, in Vienna against Tiafoe, and he has to understand that he is in a ring and has to throw punches when he serves. He has to understand what happened and the reason for this defeat, I as we all considered him the favorite of the tournament, at that point of the semi-finals.”
He also said, “He can’t always play the part of the good guy because in the end he gets made fun of him.” Jannik Sinner is currently ranked third in the Race standings, and his fans are eagerly anticipating his first victory in top-tier tournaments like the Masters 1000 or Grand Slam events.
At the recent Monte-Carlo Masters 1000, Sinner was heavily favored to win, and his supporters were hoping for a triumphant performance. The young Italian tennis star lived up to expectations by making it to the semifinals of the tournament.
Jannik Sinner reveals Daniil Medvedev as his toughest opponent
In 2023, Jannik Sinner participated in the second clay-court tournament of the season, which was held in Barcelona. Despite a busy schedule, the Italian tennis star took to the court once again on Wednesday, April 19th, to participate in the highly anticipated Conde de Godó trophy.
In his first match at the Conde de Godó trophy, Jannik Sinner faced off against Argentine tennis player, Diego Schwartzman. Sinner had previously defeated Schwartzman at the Principality of Monaco and was determined to do so again. His goal was to overcome this initial obstacle and secure a spot in the round of 16.
Jannik Sinner emerged victorious in the match against Diego Schwartzman, securing his place in the next round of the Conde de Godó trophy in Spain. Prior to the match, Sinner was interviewed by ATP Media, and the conversation covered a wide range of topics. During the interview, the Italian tennis player was also asked a curious question.
He responded by saying, “There isn’t a player I don’t like playing against, but against one I see it as a very big challenge at the moment and that’s why I train. It’s Daniil Medvedev.” The fact that the young Italian tennis star has never won against the Russian athlete is not a coincidence.
