Jannik Sinner with coach, Carlos Alcaraz
Simone Vagnozzi, Jannik Sinner‘s coach talked about the comparison between Spanish World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz and his player. Simone said Jannik Sinner has a lot of things to improve on as compared to Alcaraz. But he thinks that Sinner will be a force to reckon with in two or three years. He also talked about the inconsistencies in the serves of Italian which needs to be worked on.
In his own words, “we compare with Alcaraz, he is two years younger than Jannik, but he has been doing the same things since he was 15, so he is more complete now. Jannik needs a bit more time, although no one knows exactly when her development will be complete. But I’m sure that in 2 or 3 years Jannik will be physically stronger than he is today.“
Vagnozzi continued on how he plans to improve the game of Jannik Sinner, “We must not overdo it, we must not take risks, we must do everything at the right time, and I am convinced that this path will yield important results. The same considerations can be made about Jannik’s serve: statistics tell us that it is improving, direct points with serve, aces and winning serves, are increasing. It is obvious that there will be days when it will only be used at 50%.” (Source: We Love Tennis, translated via Google).
