What players do on the court is in front of everyone’s eyes. Some classy shots, finesse, and the way they handle themselves are seen by everyone. However, their personal lives are super amusing at times. Not all the stories are out for the general public. Everyone doesn’t know about the secrets of the past.

Sometimes the situation can be so baffling that the players themselves don’t know about their past heritage clearly. Jessica Pegula is a live example in the modern world of tennis. She is playing like an American on the Tour however she has Korean descendants.

Pegula’s mother Kim was born a Korean however was left abandoned outside a police station by her parents. She then was picked up by American parents and raised like an American. The mother’s lack of knowledge about her original identity means that Pegula herself was unsure about her roots. However, the tennis tour allowed her to understand more about her original culture. “I don’t know a lot of my heritage because she really didn’t want to know that much and she didn’t really grow up in it,” Pegula said when asked about her mother and her roots.
