22nd seed Frances Tiafoe’s dream run at the 2022 US Open continues as eases past Russian Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals. This is Tiafoe’s first semifinal outing at a major semifinal and in doing so he has beaten the likes of Diego Schwartzman, Andrey Rublev, and 22-time major champion Rafael Nadal.
Tiafoe has always been an entertaining players and is loved by everyone across the tour given his joyful nature but he hasn’t been consistent over the years. He has had some good results this year and this US Open has now become his breakthrough tournament.
The American plays with a lot of heart and can be unorthodox at times. He loves to indulge in longer rallies and is often seen interacting with his opponents during the match. He loves to indulge in playful banter and is always the crowd favorite. Needless to say, his quarterfinal win was loved worldwide and people are now questioning whether he need abusive entertainers like Nick Kyrgios when we have the likes of Frances Tiafoe.

Tiafoe will now face either Italian youngster Jannik Sinner or teenager Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinal on Friday night.
