Former American tennis ace Martina Navratilova has no sympathy with Melania Trump as the former First Lady faces criticism over her choice of dress at the Rosalynn Carter funeral at the Atlanta Church. Instead, Navratilova approves of the criticism. The US tennis legend openly expressed her opinion as she took a subtle jibe at Donald Trump’s better half. 

Martina Navratilova did not agree to hail Melania Trump for attending Carter’s funeral as one user on X wanted to do it. As the user tipped their hat off to Melania for being graceful despite being in an “unfriendly political crowd”, another user disagreed saying it should be Michelle Obama who should get the applause for sitting beside “birther trash.” Navratilova, meanwhile, seemed to agree with the second user.

To further clarify her stance, the former tennis ace shared a post from the same user who tipped their hat to Melania. As this post talked about Melania facing adversaries for being the First Lady, Navratilova reminded the user that she chose to be that and no one cares actually. Notably, Martina Navratilova has been severely critical of Donald Trump and her stance does not change for Melania as well.

Why is Melania Trump facing criticism?

Talking about the criticism Melania Trump has been facing in the past few hours as she attended Rosalynn Carter’s funeral, it is because the former First Lady did not wear a black dress. Seated in the front row with the likes of Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush, Melania opted for a gray coat dress, contrasting with what others wore.

This attracted severe criticism from netizens who claimed that it was intentional from the former First Lady. Another user went on to claim that it felt like Melania dropped by at the memorial service while going grocery shopping. 

Just turned into Rosalynn Carter's memorial. Prior Presidents and First Ladies all seated in front row, dressed in black...except Melania in a light grey or blue outfit. Had to be sure to be disrespectful.

Nevertheless, Melania Trump attended the memorial service with all other former First Ladies. However, Donald Trump was not there while President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris were present.
