Martina Navratilova reacts on last night's NFL game
The NFL team Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field after he took a mighty blow against the Bengals on Monday. He was rushed to Cincinnati Hospital where he is for now in a sedated condition. The doctors have declared that his situation is critical.
He did get medical help on the field for 30 minutes. The players and coaching staff of both teams sat around the player. Some players were seen weeping while others were praying. After 30 minutes, an ambulance came on the field and the player was loaded on the stretcher and rushed to the hospital.
Everybody hoped that the injury was not serious and that the game would resume in a few minutes. However, both coaches after consultation with the referee decided to suspend the game. Soon a statement was released by the NFL to postpone the game indefinitely.
Many social media users including sportspersons are asking the NFL to cancel the game. Among them is American tennis legend Martina Navratilova. She took to social media to share her views with a larger audience.
News also broke out yesterday, regarding her health that she is suffering from both throat and breast cancer. Since then, tennis fans have been praying for her health and also for the health of Damar Hamlin.

Martina Navratilova promise to fight back against cancer
The former World No.1 is diagnosed with cancer again. She discovered an abnormally enlarged lymph node on her neck during the WTA Finals 2022 last November. When the situation did not improve, and it did not settle down, she decided to check with the doctors. In the biopsy, it was discovered that she was suffering from throat cancer. Moreover, her breasts were also checked and it was known that she was also suffering from breast cancer.
This is not the first time Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with this disease. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. At that time, she had to undergo radiation therapy and surgery but soon was declared cancer-free.
This time two types of cancer are ailing her body. However, the positive news is that both cancer types are in their early stages and can be treated. The 9-time Wimbledon champion promised her fans that she will return soon healthier and stronger.
“The double whammy is serious, but fixable, and I’m hoping for a favourable outcome. It’s going to stink for a while, but I’ll fight with all I have got,” she has reported to have said. Tennis fans across the world, including her former rivals such as Billie Jean King and Chris Evert, are praying for her health.
