Everybody knows that Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios do not have an ideal relationship. Both players have no excuse to criticize each other. They have done that on public platforms multiple times. However, in the latest round of banter, both players took a dig at each other, questioning each other’s sportsmanship and behavior on the court.
Stefanos Tsitsipas served first. He criticized the Australian for his attitude during the Wimbledon 2022 Round of 32 matches that were played between him and the 27-year-old. It is one of the most emotionally charged encounters between the two, with both players almost abusing each other. These incidents on the halo grounds of Wimbledon drew immediate media attention and strained their relationship.
Eminent journalist Luigi Gatto shared an excerpt of the statements made by the Greek player remembering that encounter on social media. In this social media post, the 24-year-old blamed Nick Kyrgios for destroying the fabric of their relationship.
Tsitsipas on Kyrgios: “He was the one who broke our relationship. I didn’t do anything. In 2022 Wimbledon I was only trying to compete, while he was playing the clown. It also depends on how he wakes up each day.” ?
