Nick Kyrgios with Costeen Hatzi
Australian World No.22 Nick Kyrgios had a breakthrough season in 2022 as he reached the first-ever Grand Slam final (Wimbledon). He also was looking in great shape towards the second part of the season and even defeated Russian World No.1 at that time, Daniil Medvedev, in US open Pre-quarter-finals before losing in quarters to Karen Khachanov.
The Australian is thankful to his girlfriend Costeen Hatzi for the positive changes in his life this year. He shared pictures of the couple for the first year anniversary with a lovely caption, “T H A N K F U L… a year since we met and everything became better“. Costeen also took to her official Instagram to post a thankful message to his beloved quoting “One year with my human. The best year of my life. I love you.‘
The couple was posting a series of cute pictures and videos on social media. During one of the Q&A sessions on Instagram, Kyrgios was asked whether they are planning a baby. The Australian replied back stating ‘next year’ with a ring emoji as well. Kyrgios’ management later confirmed that the engagement is not yet done.
Costeen Hatzi is a social media influencer with over 150k followers on Instagram alone. She is gaining more popularity with cute pictures of the couple on social media platforms.
Nick Kyrgios’ better year -Progress Card 2022
Nick Kyrgios had a great 2022 season, having shared the Wimbledon center court in the finals against the Serbian World No.8 Novak Djokovic despite losing it in 4 sets. He also won his maiden Grand Slam tournament this year with Thanasi Kokkinakis in the Australian Open doubles. He was ranked outside the top 100 in January this year but climbed back inside the top 30.
The Australian superstar was looking in great shape at the US Open this year, but his dream run in which he overcame the defending champion Daniil Medvedev was shattered by another Russian Karen Khachanov in a 5-set-thriller in the quarter-finals. The Australian was at least expected to be in the finals after some master class serving throughout the tournament, but a day off cost him a great chance.
The Australian has qualified with Thanasi Kokkinakis as the 8th seed for playing doubles in the ATP finals, in Turin. This was the first time he has qualified for the ATP finals in any category but was lost in the Round Robin stage itself after losing 2 out of their 3 matches. If the Australian can keep his head straight and focus on his game on the court, we might see him playing in ATP finals singles shortly.
