The 22-time Grand Slam champion was on a winning streak ever since his loss against Holger Rune in the final of the Paris Masters 2022. Since then, Novak Djokovic has won 20 matches in a row including some very important tournaments such as the ATP Finals 2022, Adelaide International 1 tournament and this year’s Australian Open.

When he defeated Hubert Hurkacz in the quarter-final round of the Dubai Tennis Championships 2023, he won his 20th match in a row. This is the tenth time he has been able to accomplish this feat in his career. He is the only male singles player to have such a long winning streak so many times in the Open Era.

However, he could not continue his winning streak for long as he was defeated by in-form Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final round of this tournament. The scoreline read 6-4, 6-4 in favor of the Russian.

But the good news for him and his fans is that he will not lose many ranking points. Also, there is no threat to his World No.1 ranking. Novak Djokovic has recently broken Steffi Graf‘s long-standing record to spend most weeks as World No.1. However, if he does not get a chance to play in the sunshine doubles in the USA, then his World No.1 ranking could be in jeopardy.
