Spanish legend Rafael Nadal gave a heartfelt message thanking the French Open organizers for presenting him with a replica of his statue at Roland Garros. The organizers including Amelie Mauresmo visited the Rafael Nadal Academy in Manacor to gift him the replica in a small ceremony. An overwhelmed Nadal who is eying a come back in the clay swing posted the pictures thanking the French Open for the respect and love.

As Nadal said, “I really hope to see you again this year at Roland-Garros, and I’ll try to be competitive. It is a great privilege to welcome you here in my academy. You know how much Roland-Garros and this place mean to me. Having you here is a very special moment, and I can’t thank you enough for coming, along with some of the staff with whom I am very close at Roland-Garros.”

Though there are uncertainties about Nadal’s Monte Carlo Masters return, the tennis world is hopeful that arguably the greatest tennis player of all time will come back to his favorite hunting ground of clay to reaffirm his superstar status on this surface.

Spanish star Rafael Nadal has had an injury-hit career. But he has always come back stronger to win more Majors and break more records. Despite being one of the unluckiest players in the history of the game in terms of injuries, Nadal is still the most successful Grand Slam players ever. With 22 Grand Slams won, he is still at the top with Novak Djokovic.

In 2022, the Spaniard underwent a radio-frequency treatment. It was expected to stop the pain in the foot by numbing the nerves. The fans were expecting an-injury free Nadal after the foot treatment. But the abdomen injury in the second half of 2022 and the hip injury at the start of 2023 have given them further blows. The date of Nadal’s comeback is not yet confirmed but the tennis world is waiting for some happy news soon from the champion himself.
