It has been a week full of different emotions for World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. Just a week after winning his seventh ATP Finals title, he failed to fulfill his dream of bringing the Davis Cup back to his country yet again.
After a fantastic performance in the quarterfinals against Great Britain, the chances of a second Davis Cup for Serbia were looking bright until Jannik Sinner put a stop to Serbian hopes.
Italy went on to emerge victorious, putting an end to their 50-year wait. Spanish legend Rafael Nadal took to his Instagram to congratulate the Italian crew members for their giant leap and huge success. He posted a picture of the Italian players on his story with the caption:

However, as expected, this small gesture hasn’t been taken lightly by the tennis community, with fans bashing the 22-time Grand Slam title winner for his biased behavior. A few days ago, Nadal stated that he is not actively available on social media to congratulate players on their personal successes.
Now fans are hitting back at Nadal, with netizens even questioning his professionalism, and some even went on to debate if he would have repeated the same gesture had Serbia emerged victorious.
