Novak Djokovic’s tennis calendar facing the threat of travel restrictions
After enjoying the success of the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic’s short terms plans are looking to hit a roadblock. He is once again facing the risk of restriction for his stand against vaccines. The 22-time Grand Slam champion was expected to compete in Indian Wells and Miami where he has won the tournaments multiple times but now that looks uncertain.
Earlier it was reported that the Serb has applied for the exemption to compete in the Sunshine Doubles tournaments. But as per Prakash Amritraj, it looks ‘tricky’. According to him granting an exemption to Djokovic will not be an easy decision considering his family also making the same request.
Djokovic is currently enjoying his time at the top of the rankings and is set to break the all-time record of Steffi Graf in the next week. Moving on, continuing his dominating form of the Australian Open and ending 2023 with the most Major titles will be his prime goal.
