Emma Raducanu is all set to return to British soil as she announces her participation at the Birmingham Classic to prepare for the upcoming Wimbledon Championships. The 19-year-old then went on to win the US Open in New York from being a qualifier. Hence the hopes are high for Raducanu to do well when she will feature on her home soil at the Wimbledon Championships. The youngster is currently in Rome where he is playing in the Italian Open as she prepares for the upcoming Roland Garros.

“It will be great to get back onto the grass and relive some wonderful memories from last year, where the backing of the British fans was fantastic,” Raducanu shared.

However currently Britain’s No.1 is focused on clay as he will face former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu as the two champions meet in the opening round in Roma at the Italian Open.

Emma Raducanu will probably be without a permanent coach after she sacked her former coach Torben Beltz and has changed three coaches in a year. She did start really well on clay for the first time on tour but shockingly decided to part ways with the German coach. She has earlier moved away from Nigel Spears after the fourth-round run at the Wimbledon and did not extend Andrew Richardson’s contract after he guided her to the US Open triumph.

Currently accompanied by Iain Bates who is the  Lawn Tennis Association’s head of women’s tennis in Rome as she prepares for the Roland Garros. When asked about her stance on coaching, the 19-year-old said, “I’d describe myself as a loner. I do like being on my own, but of course, I love being in groups as well. I can easily and very happily spend a lot of time on my own. I think it’s something that is off the court as well as on the court. For the past year, I’d say I’ve had a lot of people around me a lot and very often.”

“To be kind of on my own is interesting because I’m finding out a lot about myself, understanding what I need and what I don’t need,” the US Open champion added more about herself.
