Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova will be making her Grass debut for the season as she enters into the tournament as the 8th seed. She will play her first match since her 1st round defeat at the 2019 Wimbledon which was her only Grass match the entire season amd didn’t have much success in the previous Grass seasons as well.

She comes into the tournament from the 2021 French Open where she finished as the runner-up losing to Barbora Krejcikova in 3-sets. It was a great fortnight in Paris for the Russian who defeated some big names including Aryna Sabalenka and Victoria Azarenka in her road to final.

She won her debut match in straight-sets before losing to Tereza Martincova 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-2 in the Round of 16 denying her a chance to feature in her 2nd quarter-final of the season.

She has had a moderately successful season with a 6-5 record on Hardcourts and 5-4 record on Clay as she moves towards the Grass season.
