Roger Federer has been the most successful male player at the Wimbledon Championships. He has won 8 titles there so far and has played 12 finals at the Grand Slam. Interestingly, he is the only player who has more than 100 victories at the major.

After gaining some form and momentum, Roger Federer will certainly try to play his best tennis at the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Many experts believe that this might prove to be his last shot at any Grand Slam as he’ll soon be 40.

Age is certainly not on Federer’s side. At the Halle Open 2021, Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated him in the second round and that was a big upset for him. However, the Swiss Maestro knows how to play under pressure and even ended up as the runner-up of the Wimbledon Championships 2019 at the age of 37.

His biggest mantra of winning the title this year will surely be that of avoiding long rallies. He still has got a strong forehand and an accurate slice but will he be able to play five sets on a consistent basis?

Federer’s biggest threat will be World No.1 Novak Djokovic– who is also the defending champion at the Grand Slam. The Swiss Maestro has a 1-3 head-to-head record on grass against him and it’ll be a mammoth task for him to battle past an in-form Djoker.

However, if he manages to beat Nole, there are hardly any players who can defeat him on the surface. As Rafael Nadal is not playing, Andy Murray is not at the best of his form, and none of the next gens is an exceptional player on grass, the pathway for Federer seems quite clear.

Keeping all the possibilities in mind, it won’t be wrong to say that Federer is still the second favorite to win the Grand Slam. Thus, his chances are quite high in what might prove to be his last chance of winning a major. Fans are eagerly waiting to watch him play in London this year.
