Lorenzo Musetti is one of the few talented players who are being vouched for as the ‘star of the future’ by many critics, fans, media, and legends. He was born in the Tuscan city of Carrara in 2002. However, he began playing tennis at the age of 4 years. He was coached by Simone Tartarini who is still helping him learn the nuances of the sport.

Lorenzo Musetti turned pro in 2019. He was very successful during his junior days and attained ITF ranking #1. He won the Australian Open boy’s singles title in 2019. That’s not all, in 2020, he made his debut on the ATP Tour. He was given a wildcard entry into the qualifiers at the Dubai Tennis Championships this year. However, he managed to qualify for the main draw of the event, though, lost in the first round to Andrey Rublev.

The Italian made his prowess learned when he reached the fourth round of the French Open in 2021. In the same year, he breached the Top 100. He made giant strides in the 2022 season by winning two ATP titles- the Hamburg European Open and the Tennis Napoli Cup beating Carlos Alcaraz and Matteo Berrettini in the finals respectively. He also made it to the third round of the US Open.

Lorenzo Musetti idolizes 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer. In January 2023, he attained his highest ranking, i.e. world No.18. He is currently ranked as No.21 in the world. He is currently dating Veronica Confalonieri.

Lorenzo Musetti made his relationship with Veronica Confalonieri public in 2022 on social media. She is a French national and is currently working with Sky Sport (Italy) as a graphic designer.

The couple has been spotted many times holidaying. They share their photographs on social media giving constant updates of their whereabouts to their fans and well-wishers. In February of this year, the couple was spotted vacationing in the Maldives.

Veronica Confalonieri lives in Milan, Italy while her beau Lorenzo Musetti lives in Monte Carlo, Monaco. Hence, the couple for most of the time lives apart from each other as the 20-year-old has to travel to participate and play in various tournaments across the world.

Lorenzo Musetti is currently participating in the Monte Carlo Masters tournament. He managed to defeat the 22-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic in the Round of 16 encounters of this competition. He will be playing against compatriot and Miami Open 2023 finalist Jannik Sinner in the next round.
