Alexander Zverev has probably been the most consistent player this season after Novak Djokovic. He has reached three grand slam semifinals this season and also won the Gold medal at Tokyo Olympics. He won his second masters title of the season at Cincinnati and then reached the semifinal of the US Open after a Round of 16 exit at Wimbledon.

This week in Vienna, he blasted past Filip Krajinovic in the first round before two tough outings against Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger Aliassime. He defeated Felix in the quarterfinals in three sets 6-4,3-6,6-3 and stormed past Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets 6-3,6-3.

American Frances Tiafoe has been constantly rising up the ranks this season. He defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the opening round at Wimbledon and made it to the third round. He then reached the Round of 16 at Toronto as a qualifier. He also reached the quarterfinal at Winston-Salem before a Round of 16 outing at Flushing Meadows.

This week in Vienna, Tiafoe reached the main draw after two hard fought victories in the qualifiers. In the first round, he defeated Dusan Lajovic before upsetting top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas once again. He then beat Diego Schwartzman in the quarterfinal and came from a set down in the semifinal against Jannik Sinner before beating him 3-6,7-5,6-2.
