After the Lakers’ another disappointing game, Skip Bayless of Fox Sports Undisputed speculates that if the franchisee wants to move further in the tournament Russell Westbrooks’s leadership is necessary. Bayless’s suggestion came after the Spurs crushed the Lakers who played in the absence of their two dominating forwards LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Without these two big men, the Lakers seemed unenergetic despite their leaders were supporting them from the bench the game slipped from their hands by 117-110. This season is already not going in the favor of the Lakers and their only chance is to grab some quick wins in their last 18 games, but injuries are keeping their star performers out of the play. Meanwhile, if the situation remains the same for more upcoming games Bayless wants Westbrook, Melo, and Dwight to take the charge of the Lakers.

With a disappointing mood, after the Lakers loss, Undisputed Co-hosted took the thing to Twitter and tweeted, “Without LeBron & AD, the Lakers badly needed Westbrook, Melo, and Dwight to carry them to a win at San Antonio (12th in the West) that was sitting several key rotation players. NOPE. The schedule soon gets brutal. Now it looks like the Lakers will even miss the PLAY-IN TOURNAMENT.”

Can the Lakers win games without their star LeBron James?
In the games against the San Antonio Spurs, the Lakers management gave rest to the four-time NBA champ as he was feeling some soreness in his knee. LeBron was already in pain but he kept playing for the team, so his injuries don’t get serious the Lakers opted for this as the situation for them is soon going to be do-or-die.
Bayless analysis completely feels right because if the purple and gold want their star players to rest, they need someone else to lead the team from the front so that the situation doesn’t get worse when they are left with only a few games at the end of the league games.
The LA Lakers have currently slipped to the 10th seed in the western conference with a record of 28-36 and now their playoff qualification is getting highly questioned. Let’s see how the LA-based franchise comes out of this situation as the hard times are already in front of them.
