Roger Federer is a 20-time Grand Slam champion who has enjoyed the top-rank for decades. By amassing a myriad of titles and showcasing his longevity, Federer has gained a multitude of supporters. Further, the Swiss has done so by sporting a very kind yet determined attitude on and off the court.

After reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open 2020, Roger announced that undergoing knee surgery will put him out of commission for the rest of the year. At 39, Federer is now en route to make a comeback. He will do so at the ATP Cup alongside Stan Wawrinka. To honour Roger, a fan posted a video of some crucial moments that have come about in the legend’s career so far. 

A tribute to Federer

On Youtube, ‘Lehunterpro’  posted a 5-minutes long video which poses as an emotional tribute for the legend that Federer is.

Firstly, the clip focused on the last battle in 2020 where the Swiss Maestro was publicly seen in action. It was the Australian Open semi-final match against Novak Djokovic. Here, the Serbian emerged victorious 7-6, 6-4, 6-3. This was contrasted with Federer’s most recent Grand Slam win which came about in Australia in 2018.

Secondly, Roger’s sole Roland Garros win was paralleled against that of Rafael Nadal’s 13th win in the clay courts of Paris. By doing so, the Spaniard tied up with his rival and pal’s record.

Next, the video showcased an interview wherein, Federer shed light on the moment when he’s likely to bid adieu to tennis. “I don’t know where it’s gonna be, when it’s gonna be. So, it’s still a little vague, you know. I don’t really think about it a whole lot. I guess I would be happy when that moment would come around,” he said.

This accumulation of clips emphasised on the resilience that the World No.5 has never shrieked to hold close to his chest. It highlighted the utter willpower and mental strength that it has taken one of the history’s best to get to where he is. 

If anything, it erases any doubts regarding the abilities that Federer bears to get atop yet again.
