Real Madrid took on Atletico Madrid at Civitas Metropolitano on Sunday night. Following a thrilling 1-1 draw, it is safe to say that the Madrid derby did not fail to deliver what was expected of it. Goals from Eder Militao and Angel Correa helped either side secure a point while a late red card for Marcos Llorente added to the heated rivalry between the two teams.

Another highlight during the game was the fact that it had to suspended for a while in between. Tensions poured over between home fans and former goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Despite playing for the club for three years, the Belgian did not hesitate to celebrate in front of the home fans when Militao helped Real take the lead in the 64th minute. Reacting to the same, the crowd launched lighters, a bag of unidentifiable items and many more at their former keeper.

The manager also reminded that objects were thrown at Courtois by Real Madrid fans back when he was a player at their club.

You can celebrate the goal, but not by taunting the fans or making gestures. It isn’t justified, but neither is what started it.
