Ahead of the 108th PGA Championship, major news regarding Tiger Woods came out. As per reports, his private jet has landed in Florida, almost a month after it reached Zurich, Switzerland, for the golfer’s rehab program.
Woods, the 15-time major champion, found himself in huge trouble just days before the 2026 Masters Tournament. The golfer was involved in another high-profile car crash.
His luxury SUV flipped over while he avoided a collision with a cleaner truck. Reports later emerged that the golfer was distracted by the radio.
While he blew 0.00 on the alcohol test, he refused to take part in urinalysis and was later arrested under charges of driving under the influence (DUI), property damage, and refusal to submit. He was released on bail 8 hours later.
The arrest affidavit later revealed that the PGA Tour star was “sweating profusely” with his eyes “glassy” and “bloodshot” while his pupils were dilated. Two white pills, later identified as hydrocodone, were found in his pocket.

A couple of days after the incident, the 50-year-old broke his silence. In a statement, the golfer announced taking a break from golf and seeking treatment. He would later file for permission to receive treatment abroad, citing privacy reasons.
Media outlet TMZ then reported that his private jet had landed in Zurich, Switzerland. The European city is famous for several rehab facilities, which are extremely exclusive, private, and expensive.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported that his private jet was back in America. Woods’ 2008 Gulfstream G550 reportedly departed from Zurich at 2 p.m. local time. However, it is not clear whether the golfer was present on the plane.

This development comes just a few days after prosecutors in Florida were given the green light to obtain Woods’ prescription drug records from January through March. These records will remain in protective order, meaning that the public will have no access to them.

These records could have a major impact on the DUI case against Woods. It could help the prosecutors argue whether the golfer was impaired or not because of the medications. It could also lead to a serious case if a medication is acquired without a prescription.
U.S. Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk claims he will speak with Tiger Woods regarding a role in the future
At the moment, Tiger Woods’ future in golf is uncertain. In the midst of this, U.S. Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk claimed that he will speak with the former World No.1 golfer regarding a role.

Before Furyk was appointed captain for the 2027 edition, Woods was the one in contention. The golfer was reportedly the only candidate the PGA of America was looking at.
At the 2026 Genesis Invitational, Woods admitted that he was asked about this role. He, though, was unsure whether he would accept this as he had a lot on his plate. Following his crash and DUI arrest, the chances of this happening dropped significantly.
On April 24, Furyk was named as the captain for the 2027 event and succeeded Keegan Bradley. The former major champion led the team in 2025 at Bethpage Black Course in New York, where they suffered a 15-13 loss against Team Europe.
On Wednesday, Furyk was present at the Aronimink Golf Club and attended the press conference of the PGA Championship. During this, he was asked whether he had reached out to Woods. The 59-year-old expressed that he had not, but will do so in the future.
We haven’t spoken yet. I think, out of kind of courtesy and for him, his family, and I know maybe a road to health, I haven’t reached out, but I will. Definitely. We’ll see where that role may fall.

9: Jim Furyk

Furyk becomes just the 4th player to captain Team USA twice. He had served as the captain during the 2018 edition when the Europeans won 17.5-10.5 at Le Golf National in Paris, France in 2018.
The other three stars to captain Team USA on more than one occasion are Jack Nicklaus in 1983 and 1987, Tom Watson in 1993 and 2014, and Davis Love III in 2012 and 2016.
The 2027 Ryder Cup will be held at Adare Manor in Ireland. A victory for the Europeans would see them go back-to-back-to-back and secure a hat-trick of wins for captain Luke Donald.
