There’s no better honor than earning the respect of a fellow athlete. And that honor becomes a landmark moment when it comes from Tom Brady. Recently, the former Patriots and Buccaneers signal caller claimed that Aaron Rodgers is the greatest passer in football history.
With the World Cup taking place in the US, Brady linked up with soccer legends Roy Keane, Ian Wright, and Gary Neville for a segment of the Stick to Football podcast. When the crew asked Brady to name the best passer he had ever seen, the 48-year-old didn’t hesitate to mention Rodgers’ name.
I think there’s no greater passer of the football than Aaron Rodgers. There’s certain people, you see everyone do it, and then you see one person throw the ball that much better. Aaron Rodgers was incredible.
Brady said
Rodgers didn’t stop there. He continued praising Rodgers.
[It’s] hard to put into words how incredible [Aaron] passes the ball. The way it comes out of his hand, the way it spins and delivers with the pace and the accuracy… There’s only probably [only] three people in the history of the NFL that could do it like him.

Rodgers is a Super Bowl winner, four-time NFL MVP, five-time All-Pro, and ten-time Pro Bowler. He led the league in passer rating four times, twice scored the most touchdowns, and completed the most passes in 2020.
Rodgers has a 163-93-1 regular-season record in 264 games. He’s the NFL record holder for the best touchdown (527) to interception (123) percentage (1.4%).
Can Aaron Rodgers have a grand send-off?
Rodgers is a future first ballot Hall of Famer. However, he has declined in the last few years. That is to be expected, given that he’s halfway through 42.

In 2025, Rodgers threw 327 completions, 3322 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions, leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to the playoffs, where they were defeated by the Texans.
Many assumed that Rodgers would retire, but he decided to extend his career by one more year. However, the 2026-27 season will be his last.
This is it.
Rodgers said during his first press conference after re-signing with the Steelers
If this year is indeed his last, then winning a second championship will be the perfect send-off. The Steelers are doing their bit. They appointed Mike McCarthy as the new head coach. Rodgers won his only ring with McCarthy in 2011.
I spent 13 years in [Mike McCarthy’s offense]. He’s changed some stuff when he was in Dallas with Dak [Prescott]. I’ll battle on a couple of things that I’ll be stubborn about, terminology-wise. I think part of the process is just growing. Me having to adjust some of the things I’ve done or the terminology I like. It’s a fun learning experience right now.
Rodgers said (H/T NFL.com)
Wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was signed on a multi-year deal to pair with DK Metcalf, Pat Freiermuth, Darnell Washington, and Germie Bernard. Pittman had 700+ yards and 7 touchdowns last year. He’s excited to receive passes from Rodgers.
