WWE’s next PLE stop is Scotland. In three weeks from now, the Superstars will head to Europe for Clash at the Castle. WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has already announced a blockbuster showdown for the PLE. Having said that, Damian Priest will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against the local favorite, Drew McIntyre.
The promulgation came from the WWE CCO during King and Queen of the Ring in Jeddah. Triple H confirmed that Drew McIntyre has been sanctioned the medical clearance to return to in-ring action. It’s worth noting that he suffered a hyperextended elbow at WrestleMania XL. It even axed McIntyre’s participation in this year’s King of the Ring tournament.
However, he’d better let bygones be bygones and focus on the task at hand. Receiving a crack at the world title even on his home turf doesn’t mean that one can completely write Damian Priest out of the equation. He’s the one who made the most of The Scottish Warrior’s obsession with CM Punk at WrestleMania XL. Priest triumphantly cashed-in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew to end his title reign. It had merely clocked just under 6 minutes.
Three weeks from today, LIVE from Glasgow, Scotland, @DMcIntyreWWE gets his opportunity to challenge @ArcherOfInfamy for the World Heavyweight Championship at #WWECastle.Triple H on X
For Damian, there might be a chip on his shoulders to prove his naysayers wrong that his coup over McIntyre wasn’t just a fluke. Whereas, for the Scot, it’s imperative to seize his moment in front of what’s expected to be a one-sided crowd in favor of Drew. Back in 2022, The Chosen One did let his people down in front of Roman Reigns, who barely escaped McIntyre’s wrath, thanks to Solo Sikoa‘s timely run-in.
Drew McIntyre mocks Damian Priest following major WWE Clash at the Castle announcement
Moments after Triple H made it official, Drew McIntyre resorted to his A-game on social media. The 38-year-old brutally trolled Damian Priest by posting that infamous picture of John Cena from ECW One Night Stand in 2006.
Drew implied that Priest would go through the same treatment in Glasgow. The only difference being that the latter doesn’t have the aura like Cena had. The Judgment Day member might actually be in hot waters come Clash at the Castle. Last month at Backlash, the Puerto Rican wrestler put away Jey Uso.
However, someone like The Scottish Psychopath is a different ball game altogether. But the latter does need to be on the move in case CM Punk tries to ruin it all for the Ayr-born wrestler. The fans are under the belief that Punk and McIntyre are destined to clash at this year’s SummerSlam.
