Tyreek Hill’s latest social media activity is a clear indication of how he really feels about teammate Tua Tagovailoa

Pay Tua Tagovailoa—is the cry from Tyreek Hill. The star wide receiver wants to see the Dolphins quarterback earning the top bucks before the season kicks off in September.
Hill may have joked around with Tagovailoa’s new look, but the veteran playmaker wants the Dolphins front office to act quickly and secure a longtime solution for the quarterback spot. However, the Miami franchise currently has just over $18 million in cap space, and they recently extended Jaylen Waddle’s stay in the South Beach.
Spotrac’s Mike Ginnetti has speculated that the Alabama graduate could earn around or even right of $50 million a year. It poses a big challenge for the Dolphins because the extension depends on the timing which can get ugly.
That’s because Hill’s agent has also confirmed that his client has been waiting for negotiations since the 2023 season ended. However, the Super Bowl winner’s recent social media activity suggests that he wants the Dolphins to pay Tagovailoa first.
The liked content section of Hill’s X (formerly Twitter) revealed that the 8 times Pro Bowler approved FOX analyst Emmanuel Acho’s assessment that Tagovailoa can reset the quarterback market with a new contract. Acho asserted that quarterbacks with less talent have done the same in the past.
Tyreek Hills claimed Tua Tagovailoa should have already been paid
The biggest reason delaying Tua’s extension, as Acho and several other analysts point out, is the quarterback’s poor history with injuries. However, if the Dolphins are certain the 26-year-old is their franchise quarterback, then they should get the deal wrapped up.
After Friday’s practice at the Miami Gardens, Tyreek Hill discussed Tua’s contract situation with the media.
Tua [Tagovailoa] should have been paid. I've been saying this all offseason, man. I know we gotta great front office with [Chris] Greer [general manager] and Short, and they're going to get it done.Tyreek Hill said
He also highlighted the Lions making Jared Goff the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.
Lot of people are comparing their Jared Golf situation and stuff like that. But I feel like Tua's supposed to be up there with some of them [best quarterbacks in the NFL] guys and past some of them guys.Tyreek Hill added
“Tua should’ve been paid.”

2023 was Tagovailoa’s breakout year. He threw a career-high 388 passes with an accuracy of 69.3% for 4,624 yards and 29 touchdowns. However, the Dolphins lost their way near the end of the campaign.
Despite winning 11 games in the first half season, they won only one in the last six and failed to beat any team with a record of .500. The Dolphins crashed out of the wild card round for the second a year in a row after losing to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.
