UFC 266: Dan Hooker targeted to face Nasrat Haqparast in the Lightweight contest

The number 8th ranked UFC Lightweight fighter, Dan Hooker is targeted to face the rising contender in the Lightweight division, Nasrat Haqparast at UFC 266. This fight card will be headlined by the UFC Featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski facing Brian Ortega to defend his title.

Along with this the UFC women’s Flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko will also be defending her title against Lauren Murphy in the co-main event. Hooker will be making his comeback inside the Octagon almost after six months.

He faced a defeat against the former Bellator Lightweight champion, Michael Chandler making his debut at UFC 257. Prior to this fight, he faced a loss against Dustin Poirier on UFC on ESPN: Poirier vs Hooker and now he’ll look forward to making his comeback with a win in this fight.

Nasrat Haqparast on the other hand made his UFC debut against Marcin Held on UFC Fight Night: Cannonier vs Till in October 2017. He holds a record of 5-2 in UFC and Haqparast will be coming into this fight-riding two-fight win streak, with his latest win coming against Rafa Garcia on UFC Fight Night: Edwards vs Muhammad.

Since his loss against Chandler, Hooker has been calling out almost every ranked Lightweight fighter to face him but he finally gets an unranked fighter to face him inside the Octagon. This is a huge opportunity for Haqparast as if he wins this one he can get a crack into the UFC Lightweight division rankings.

UFC 266 is rumored to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on 25th September and with the addition of this fight, it looks much better.
