“It is not scaring me,” Ciryl Gane does not fear Francis Ngannou’s power ahead of his fight at UFC 270
Ciryl Gane and Francis Ngannou
The world’s scariest fighter, Francis Ngannou does not scare former teammate Ciryl Gane one bit ahead of their title unification fight at UFC 270.
UFC’s newly crowned interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane is booked to face the champion Francis Ngannou at the main event of UFC 270. The French heavyweight is looking forward to the title unification bout and welcomes the Ngannou to test him. Gane is coming off a TKO win against UFC’s fan-favorite Derrick Lewis at UFC 265.
Ahead of his new big fight, Gane was gracious enough to appear on an interview with Submission Radio. In the interview, Gane says that he is used to heavy hitters and Ngannou’s punches do not scare him. Ngannou and Gane were previously teammates before Francis switched coaches. Gane is yet to be defeated in his career and Francis has the best shot in doing so.
“He likes to punch really hard,” Ciryl Gane says Francis punched hard during sparring
While talking to Submission Radio, Gane spoke about his training camp days with Francis and how sparring sessions went down in their gyms. “I remember the first sparring we did, I was like, okay, this man likes to punch really hard. And he punches for real. Like even when it was just sparring, he liked to punch really hard,” said Ciryl.
“No, this is not scaring me,” Gane said about Francis’ knockout power. “You see with Derrick Lewis, a big knockout punch, he is a beast too, but it was not a problem. I was staying inside. It was not a problem. He is a heavyweight, just like me. I can punch too if I transfer.”
