The UFC returns to ‘Down Under’ for UFC 312, its second pay-per-view event of the season. This Saturday, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena will be the epicenter of emotions, rage, and even anticipation. Former UFC 185-pound titleholder Sean Strickland challenges the guard again.
He meets UFC middleweight champ Dricus Du Plessis, who won the gold from him last year. As such, both fighter would expectedly pocket big salaries and fighter compensations. The UFC 312 payouts could get as bloated as their bloody title war.
The pair met at UFC 297, where Du Plessis stunned everyone by winning a split decision over Sean Strickland. Per BetGM, he made neat payouts of a base $70,000 against Uriah Hall, $100,000 in his loss against Alex Pereira, and $150,000 from Jared Cannonier and onward. Consequently, he pocketed a stout $200,000 in base/win bonus along with another post-fight performance bonus against Abusupiyan Magomedov.
For the post-Reebok UFC Promotional Guidelines tiers, he was earning $32,000 in compliance payments to enter as challenger. Sean Strickland dethroned Israel Adesanya to bag the 185-pound title, $500,000 in base/win bonus and $1,082,000 all-in.
Against Dricus Du Plessis, he made a base of $1,200,000. Additionally, Strickland punctuated 350,000 PPV buys for payouts of $150,000.
