We all know Francis Ngannou’s love for football as the man is a confessed fan of the sport and was even seen showing his enthusiasm for football.

Recently before the African Cup of Nations began there were rumors as to Fifa wanting to cancel the competition and the UFC heavyweight champion was having none of it as he fired at the football organization on Twitter for not respecting the African people and its teams.

‘The Predator’ has even shown he’s an avid supporter of the North London club, Arsenal FC when he visited the club’s home ground, Emirates Stadium, back in 2017 where he sported the iconic no.14 shirt worn by club legend Thierry Henry who also happens to be one of Ngannou’s favorite players. At the time, Ngannou was in London to attend a UFC Fight Night event at the O2 Arena.

With his home country Cameroon reaching the AFCON semi-finals, Ngannou would be thrilled to see them set their sights on a record 8th title as they take on Egypt.

Ali Abdelaziz, whose home country is Egypt took to Twitter to call out Francis Ngannou for a bet as to which team would make it to the finals.

Hey @francis_ngannou Egypt is playing with Cameroon next, please let me know how much money you wanna lose to me?“, tweeted the MMA manager.

Ngannou hasn’t responded as of yet but he sure could be bullish of his country’s chances as they are yet to lose a single game in the competition and look to make history.

Francis Ngannou recently sat with longtime UFC ring announcer Bruce Buffer on his ‘It’s Time‘ podcast with head coach Eric Nicksick and manager Marquel Martin as guests.

The French-Cameroonian took another dig at potential UFC heavyweight rival and former two-time light heavyweight champion Jon Jones saying that he does better arguing on Twitter than he fights in an octagon.

I think the first thing we have to know whether Jon Jones is going to fight or not. Because actually, he finds himself a better battle on Twitter than in octagon“, said ‘The Predator’.

Despite this obvious dig, Ngannou had also made it certain that he isn’t looking for a fight against Jon Jones anytime soon as he said in his pre-fight press conference, “No, I’m done with that fight. I’ve been waiting for that fight for so long. After Stipe, it was supposed to be Jon Jones, and that never happened. I don’t know why. So, I moved on.”

Jones is, however, known to want to return to the octagon to fight at the biggest division, and even if he doesn’t get that shot against Francis Ngannou, he looks to take the throne of heavyweight champion.
